Bio:
Dr. Jamal Alhiyafi received his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from Wayne State University in 2010. He received his M.S. in Software Engineering and B.S. in Computer Science from University of Michigan- Dearborn in 2002 and 2000, respectively. He also received a Graduate Certificate in Scientific Computing from Wayne State University in 2006. His current research interest is in the field of scientific workflow models, high performance computing, scientific workflow scheduling, cloud computing, and their usage in the area of bioinformatics. He has published a number of papers in refereed journals and conference proceeding and currently serves as the publication chair and a reviewer of IEEE conference in Scientific Workflows. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc. (IEEE) and the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM). He is also a member of the Scientific Workflow Research Laboratory at Wayne State University, moderator of the Bioinformatics and Data Mining Group and moderator of the Grid Workflow Group at Wayne State University. During his college time, Dr. Jamal Alhiyafi was a recipient of the National Science Foundation – IGERT Fellowship.
